I have been very impressed with Alpine Diagnostics. I have a complex injury history and have had a number of X-Ray, CT scans and MRI over the last few years. Unsatisfied with the lack of detail provided in reports by NHS radiologists I decided to seek a second opinion. It can be a bit tricky requesting imagery files (DICOM) from your local nhs trust but I found contacting PALs the best way to get them. Alpine were always quick to respond to messages and found answers to any questions I had about the process snd billing. After I paid the agreed fee and uploaded my files via a secure portal they got straight to work and delivered my report within the agreed time. This report really helped me understand my injuries and enabled me to better communicate with my consultants to drive further investigations and my treatment forward. I am so very grateful.

Great service. I got a 2nd opinion of a complex ankle injury using Alpine Diagnostics. I specifically looked for a Swiss service online as the Swiss deal with so many skiing and snowboarding related ankle injuries each year that I suspected they would be very experienced with all types of ankle injuries (my injury wasnt skiing related). The original MRI had been acquired in Ireland and I was able to download the MRI data from the Alliance medical image hub and upload the DICOM folder in minutes. I purchased the basic option on a Monday night and got the report back on Thursday morning. Much quicker than the original report from Alliance. The original report didnt make reference to the main source of my problem. As the specialist relies heavily on the MRI report it can be very difficult to get the correct treatment without a clear statement in the report which references the specific issue. Alpine Diagnostics identified all of the same original findings from the original report (giving me a lot of confidence in their ability) in addition to making some additional findings. What I particularly like is the report is presented very well showing pictures of how they made all of their diagnoses. You can also ask questions (which I did) and the radiologist will review them and give you direct advice. They also give a recommendations section at the end which makes it clear what the follow up and treatment requirements are. This is particularly useful as the specialist then has clear advice what needs to be done next. I was able to send the report back to my specialist through my GP. The report also included a statement as to how the injury occurred as the injuries were consistent with that type of injury. That actually confirmed for me that an earlier incident had done a lot of damage to my ankle (when i capsized out of a rowing racing shell) and must have left my ankle vulnerable to picking up the more severe injury later when simply running for a ball. I would recommend to anyone in Ireland who has a more complex issue to submit your data to Alpine Diagnostics as soon as you can download the data while you are still waiting on your Alliance medical report as you will get the report back quicker and don't need to wait to see the specialist to see what the report says. It also puts you in a better position when meeting with the specialist as you know what needs to be done next instead of multiple follow up appointments that cost 200 euro every time. They also have a 24 hour turnaround option if you are nervously waiting on results. For about 60 euros id pay for that extra if its anything serious as it will give you peace of mind.

Often, yes. Published studies report clinically relevant discrepancies in roughly 10 to 30% of second reads by subspecialists, depending on body region and subspecialty. Hospital radiology is generalist-led and throughput-pressured. We do nothing but subspecialty second opinions.
I have imaging going back several years. Can you really read all of it together?+
Yes, that's exactly what Alpine Longitudinal is for. Your subspecialist reads your current scan together with every prior study you provide, showing what's progressed, what's stable, what's new.
What if my doctor refuses to take the Alpine report seriously?+
Rare in practice. Every Alpine report follows the standard professional format physicians receive from hospital radiology: clinical history, findings, impressions and recommendations, plus a plain-language summary written for you.
My symptoms have been called "non-specific." Is a re-read even worth it?+
Yes, because imaging findings and symptom causation are two different questions. A subspecialist re-read can identify findings that were missed, under-described or misclassified, and even a confirmed clean read is diagnostically valuable.
How do I know my data is secure?+
Your imaging travels over encrypted connections to Swiss-based servers and is stored encrypted at rest via Tresorit (zero-knowledge encryption). Only your assigned radiologist can access it. Files are never sold or used to train AI models, and all diagnostic conclusions come from our radiologists.
Who actually reads my scan?+
A Swiss-licensed subspecialty radiologist matched to your scan type: neuroradiology for brain MRI, musculoskeletal for joint scans, breast imaging for mammograms, oncologic imaging for cancer follow-ups.
How is this different from going to another hospital?+
