I used Alpine Diagnostics after doing lots of research into second opinion radiologists for an MRI Knee. I was delighted by the speed and quality of their service. The report was excellent, thorough with clear explanations. It was infinitely more detailed than the UK one I obtained. The cost was also very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone needing an expert; independent view of their imaging.
I have been very impressed with Alpine Diagnostics. I have a complex injury history and have had a number of X-Ray, CT scans and MRI over the last few years. Unsatisfied with the lack of detail provided in reports by NHS radiologists I decided to seek a second opinion. It can be a bit tricky requesting imagery files (DICOM) from your local nhs trust but I found contacting PALs the best way to get them. Alpine were always quick to respond to messages and found answers to any questions I had about the process snd billing. After I paid the agreed fee and uploaded my files via a secure portal they got straight to work and delivered my report within the agreed time. This report really helped me understand my injuries and enabled me to better communicate with my consultants to drive further investigations and my treatment forward. I am so very grateful.

Who exactly reviews my scan?+
Every scan is reviewed by a Swiss-licensed subspecialty radiologist: not a generalist, not an AI and not a technician. Your scan type determines which specialist is assigned: knee MRIs go to a musculoskeletal expert, mammograms to a breast imaging specialist, brain MRIs to a neuroradiologist. Our Medical Director, specialist radiologist Oxana Smagulova, oversees quality across all cases. Every report carries the name and specialist title of the radiologist who read your case.
Are you truly independent?+
Yes. Alpine Diagnostics is a standalone diagnostic practice. We are not affiliated with any imaging center, hospital, or surgical team. We do not perform imaging, and we do not recommend treatment. Our radiologists have no financial incentive other than providing an honest, accurate interpretation.
How is my medical data protected?+
All data is encrypted end-to-end and stored on Swiss servers under the FADP (Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection).
Why should I trust a remote second opinion over an in-person consultation?+
Radiology is inherently a remote discipline: your radiologist already reads your scan on a screen, not by examining you in person. What matters is the specialist's expertise and the quality of the analysis, not physical proximity. How much does a second opinion cost?+
Alpine Essential CHF 260 (one radiologist, one region), Alpine Longitudinal CHF 400 (current scan plus all prior imaging of the region), Alpine Conscientious CHF 460 (two radiologists, one consensus report), Alpine Elite CHF 600 (two radiologists, full imaging history). Each additional region: +CHF 180 with one radiologist, +CHF 320 with two. Standard delivery within 72 hours is included in every package; Priority 24 hours costs +CHF 100, refunded if we miss the deadline.
How long does a second opinion take?+
Most reports arrive in under 24 hours. Standard delivery is within 72 hours and included in every package. With Priority (+CHF 100) the 24 hours are binding, and we refund the Priority fee if we miss the deadline. The clock starts once your images and your completed questionnaire have reached us. Your report arrives as an encrypted download link by email.
Do I need a doctor's referral?+
No. Patients can request a second opinion directly through our website, no referral required. After payment you upload your DICOM files through a personal encrypted Tresorit link and receive your report by email.
